v Web-site checking

It is easy to see that all too many organisations, in building their web-sites, have abandoned all their normal professional standards.  Many corporate sites are badly written, not proof-read, have poor layout, inconsistent use of font...  in short, they give a poor impression of the organisation and fail to fulfil their purpose.

Many sites work correctly on some browser versions, but fail on others.  Further, many contain scripts that are faulty - browsing for a few hours on a browser with script debugging enabled can be an educational experience, even on major corporate sites.

In some cases, where the sites fail to meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act or similar legislation, they may even be illegal.

A report early in 2003 of the web-sites of the UK's 100 leading companies showed half had significant issues that required resolving, with 16 being so bad that the report's authors suggested that they should be taken down and rebuilt from scratch.

We can provide all the proofreading and other document services that we offer for normal documents, but applied to web-sites.  We can validate that sites perform correctly in a wide range of browser environments, and using specialised browser software developed specifically for the purpose, we can systematically  proof-read and annotate each page on the site.
