Highland Editorial and Document Services can provide translation services into and from most languages for a wide variety of disciplines. Translators are always available in the world's major languages; most minor languages can be handled but normally require forty-eight hours notice of need.

Translations of documents in a specialised discipline such as law, medicine or engineering would always be undertaken by a specialist translator and would be returned with the appropriate validation. Translations are always proofread in the destination language by a third party independent of the translator. We routinely proofread any document in the source language before sending it to the translator. Layout and presentation details are also checked and if we detect any conflict between the source and destination cultures then we advise our clients of this.

Translators in specialist subject areas can usually cope with translating about twelve hundred words per day but for ordinary business this figure can be as high as two thousand five hundred words per day. Our clients are always advised of the length of time that the process is likely to take before work starts.

Our latest service is the provision of multilingual conference interpreters together with the equipment, and audio technicians, to back them up. We also maintain a list of translators who are available for small, or one to one, meetings. Based on the destination languages asked for, we also try to identify the likely cultural and religious needs of conference delegates and to inform our clients of such needs.
